This Tablet is an antiviral agent used in the treatment of the infections caused by herpes viruses such as genital herpes, cold sores, shingles , etc. Valcivir-1000 Tablet does not cure herpes; Valcivir-1000 Tablet helps in preventing outbreaks of the infection and lessens the risk of the virus spreading to other people. Valcivir-1000 Tablet may also be used for the treatment of chickenpox (Varicella zoster infection).
How does medicine work?
The phosphorylation of the Valcivir 1000Mg Tablet occurs by viral thymidine kinase to the acyclovir triphosphate. valcivir 1000mg tab is then inhibited by herpes replication of viral DNA. A competitive inhibition of viral DNA polymerase also takes place.

valcivir 1000 mg Is The L-Valine Ester Of Aciclovir. A Prodrug, It Is Rapidly Converted To Aciclovir By Intestinal And Hepatic Metabolism. Aciclovir Inhibits DNA Synthesis And Viral Replication And Has Antiviral Activity Against Herpes Simplex Virus Types 1 (HSV-1) And 2 (HSV-2) And Varicella-Zoster Virus. Absorption: Readily Absorbed From GI Tract. Bioavailability Of Aciclovir (After Valaciclovir Admin): 54%. Peak Plasma Concentrations Of Aciclovir: 1.5 Hr. Food Does Not Affect Bioavailability. Distribution: Protein Binding: 15%. Crosses Placenta. Metabolism: Rapidly Converted To Active Aciclovir By First Pass Intestinal Or Hepatic Metabolism. Elimination Half Life Of Aciclovir: 3 Hr. Excretion: Excreted Via Urine Mainly As Aciclovir And Metabolites With <1% Of Valaciclovir Excreted Unchanged.
The missed dose should be taken as soon as possible. valcivir 1000 mg dosage is advisable to skip the missed dose if it is already time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.
